Around the world, the Hamilton watch is lauded for its innovative design, both functionally and artistically. Beginning their claim to fame as designers of Railroad Pocket watches with degrees of error measured within fractions of seconds a day, Hamilton went on to become major forces in the wristwatch line, hiring the brightest designers and engineers to oversee development of hundreds of original styles. Today Hamiltons retain their spot as most-favored timepieces among fashion artists and collectors. What an uncommon, attractive example of the golden "Mid-Century" era of Hamilton design! This 1952 timepiece is in remarkably original condition, with pearlescent dial highlighted by stylized numerals, thin spear hands and the familiar "Hamilton" logo. Embodying the finest of the Minimalist era, this example, with its feathered lugs and yellow gold-filled case exudes a smooth wrist appeal that says '50s Park Avenue panache in a black lacquered limousine. Purring under the hood is nothing less than a completely cleaned, oiled and calibrated 18 ruby jewel, manual-wind movement, making this timepiece every bit as impressive on the inside as it looks on the wrist. It measures a cool 42mm lug-to-lug by 32mm in diameter, is fitted with a genuine peanut crocodile strap and offered in a factory Hamilton clamshell case.
