Established in 1779, Bowmore is tought to be the oldest distillery on Islay and still operates its own floor maltings, Distillery is located on the eastern shore of Loch Indaal, a large bay on the west coast of Islay. Its main winery is even below sea level. Bowmore is known for producing a very wide variety of whiskies of different ages and maturations.
