Since the end of the 18th century, Ch・・teau Trontanoy has been considered the Premier Cru of Pomerol, and since 1953, Jean-Pierre Moueix, the winemaker of the most famous ch・・teau on the right bank of Bordeaux, has been producing the wine.The 7 hectares or so of west-facing vineyards are planted on "crasse de fer," a mixture of iron-rich clay and gravel soils.
